Mr. Mathis, who was born in Water Valley and moved back there eight years ago died at 5:35 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy Veterans Hospital er an illness of eight months. He was 68. He was an employe of the old Veterans Hospital on mar and was a veteran of World War I.

Allen when he was commissioner of fire and police. After the death of her husband 10 years ago, Mrs. MacMackin did secretarial work at Kennedy erans Hospital on Lamar. She was a member of Park Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Before her illness, she lived at 3379 Hadley Road.
