Most musculoskeletal injuries are appropriate for visits to Urgent OrthoCARE. However, there are certain instances when the emergency room or primary care urgent care provides a better choice, and we want you to be educated about what those are so you can make the right decision for your care.

Urgent OrthoCARE is similar to a primary care urgent care clinic. While primary care urgent care clinics treat many different illnesses and injuries, Urgent OrthoCARE is specifically dedicated to caring for urgent orthopedic injuries. Urgent OrthoCARE is an extension of our regular orthopedic clinic.

No appointments necessary – just walk in during Urgent OrthoCARE hours.

Urgent OrthoCARE has an MRI on-site with some evening hours available. If the provider thinks an MRI is necessary, an MRI can be ordered at Urgent OrthoCARE. Sometimes the MRI can be done the same day, but it depends upon availability and your insurance.

Urgent OrthoCARE is staffed by board certified orthopedic physician assistants who have completed special training in orthopedics and are supervised by an orthopedic surgeon. There is always an orthopedic surgeon on-call for more serious injuries.

Providers at Urgent OrthoCARE have special training in orthopedics and a better understanding of orthopedic injuries. If you are treated at an emergency room or primary care urgent care for an orthopedic injury, they will typically have you follow up with an orthopedic clinic. You can save time and money by going directly to Urgent OrthoCARE. Wait times are typically much shorter at Urgent OrthoCARE than they would be at a primary care urgent care or emergency room.

Urgent OrthoCARE treats patients of all ages, whether your child was hurt at sports practice, or if you slipped and fell and twisted your ankle. Urgent OrthoCARE specializes in the treatment of orthopedic injuries for all age groups.

Urgent OrthoCARE charges the same co-pay as a doctor’s office visit, which is generally cheaper than an emergency room or urgent care co-pay. If your plan requires a co-pay, it will be collected at the time of your visit.

As with any medical care, it is always recommended that you check with your insurance company to determine your coverage.

By coming directly to Urgent OrthoCARE, you have immediate access to orthopedic surgeons if follow-up care is required. Our staff will coordinate an appointment for you with our providers prior to you leaving our clinic. This program offers a continuum of care, starting with your Urgent OrthoCARE visit through follow-up care provided in our office.
